This teaching document contains the basics on the subject of avalanches. It is a compilation of knowledge to arouse fascination and interest in children and young people for an important topic in the mountain region. It can be used in school lessons, for example as part of a module on natural hazards in the Alps. Depending on the depth of the individual questions, it is suitable for pupils at different school levels.
