Declaration of accessibility

in accordance with Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 of 11 October 2018 establishing a model accessibility statement pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

Declaration on accessibility

The Office of the Tyrolean Provincial Government strives to make its website accessible in accordance with § 14b of the Tyrolean Anti-Discrimination Act 2005 to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to www.snow.institute

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Web – WCAG 2.1’ according to the applicable harmonised European standard ‘European Standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08)’ due to the following incompatibilities.

The contents listed below are not barrier-free for the following reasons:

1. incompatibility with the accessibility regulations

1.1. Perceptibility

On some pages, the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for text and images is not met. This means that the WCAG success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum) is not fulfilled.

Illustrations and graphics are used – for technical reasons as well as the high update rates of the files to be visualised, we cannot design all illustrations and graphics to be barrier-free and accessible and in these cases do not meet the success criterion 1.1.1 (text alternative). This includes animated weather forecasts and analyses.

2. Disproportionate Burden

Our videos do not have audio descriptions. This means that the WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description Prerecorded) is not met. The content of the video is available in textual form directly with the videos.

Creation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was created on 01.11.2023.

The content of selected web pages (homepage, blog overview, a blog entry, station measurements, as well as the pages under the menu items Training and More) underwent a self-test according to WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA in May 2021.

The statement was last reviewed on 01.11.2023.
