Pupils who who live and spend their free time in the should have the opportunity to complete an avalanche prevention course or winter sports safety days at least once during their time at school.

Austria

Tyrol

As part of the Tyrolean School Sports Service, Tyrolean school classes can invite qualified trainers from a wide range of exercise programs to their lessons. These exercise programs are carried out as school sports events as part of school lessons, with the trainers accompanying the classes as external experts. Snow, ice, avalanche workshop

  • Subsidies:

    Once a school year, Tyrolean school classes can learn how to deal with snow, ice and the danger of avalanches with specially trained people.

    Practical teaching materials are provided here as a basis for information and preparation.

    Any lift tickets required for the workshop can be obtained from the Tirol Education Directorate: Project Skifahr`n – https://www.tiroler-schulsport.at/skifahrn/anmeldung/

    One trainer per course and class can be booked via the province of Tyrol. For the half-day workshop (4 units), the trainers receive € 250 as an expense allowance. Any additional costs must be covered by the school itself.

Austria-wide offer

AUVA also offers safety workshops at schools and during winter sports weeks throughout Austria. The workshops take place from November to the beginning of April and can be booked from September (start of school).

The lecture and travel costs of the AUVA Safety Guide as well as all necessary preparation and planning work are borne by the AUVA. Only the costs of the AUVA Safety Guide’s overnight stay are to be borne by the school.

Germany

CHECK YOUR RISK trainers come to schools or ski camps free of charge and raise young people’s awareness of the dangers of skiing off-piste.

CHECK YOUR RISK is an initiative to teach risk and decision-making skills when freeriding. The aim is to raise awareness among young winter sports enthusiasts in order to reduce the number of accidents involving young freeriders.

On request, the CYR trainers will come to the ski camp free of charge. Two free workshops can be booked for the schools.

Switzerland

Grisons

The Grischa Mountain Sports School offers courses for all school levels / all age groups. A mountain guide can supervise 8 participants and costs CHF 700 for school classes.

Information on possible funding can be obtained from Youth and Sport and the local authority. Support services are offered there under certain conditions.

Unfortunately, we do not have any information on specific offers. We recommend contacting local mountain guides or the local mountain rescue service directly.
